FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Salt Float Therapy

WHAT IS SALT FLOAT THERAPY?

Salt float therapy, nestled within the innovative Psychiatric Spa at Risoldi Wellness, offers a unique approach to mental health and relaxation. These sensory deprivation tanks, also known as isolation tanks or floatation tanks, provide an environment of minimal sensory input, allowing individuals to experience profound relaxation and potentially therapeutic effects.

Your floating experience takes place in a specially designed tub filled with 1,000 of Epsom salt and roughly 200 gallons of lukewarm water (approximately 93.5 degrees).

WHY SALT FLOAT THERAPY?

Potential Positive Benefits: Float therapy has been associated with various benefits, including stress reduction, pain relief, improved sleep, and enhanced mental clarity. Some individuals also report experiencing profound meditative states or heightened creativity during float sessions.

Integration with Psychiatric Spa: By incorporating salt float therapy into the Psychiatric Spa at Risoldi Wellness, clients can access a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. This integration may involve combining float therapy with other therapeutic modalities offered at the spa, such as counseling, mindfulness practices, or holistic treatments.

Professional Guidance: It's important for individuals to receive guidance and support from trained professionals when undergoing float therapy, especially within a psychiatric setting. Qualified staff can ensure a safe and comfortable experience for clients while also providing any necessary support or guidance throughout the session.

ARE THE SALT FLOATS CLEAN?

Both the magnesium sulfate and salt content are so high that it kills most microorganisms, and are combined with a double filtration system. Our sensory deprivation tanks have more salt content than the Dead Sea! All tanks and rooms are cleaned between patients, with fresh towels, and accompaniments to help make your salt float therapy experience exceptional!

HOW DO I PREPARE TO FLOAT?

We do not recommend shaving, waxing, or tanning 24 hours prior to your floating experience due to the high salt. That could be irritating to your skin.

Try not to eat or drink too much up to an hour before floating. You can eat a small meal or a snack.

AVOID CAFFEINE four (4) hours before floating.

IF I AM PREGNANT, CAN I FLOAT?

Relief is around the corner with float therapy! We do not recommend floating in the 1st Trimester or Lactating. Please check with your OBGYN before floating.

DO I FLOAT NAKED?

That is your decision. We recommend floating nude to absorb the nutrients and not be a distraction while meditating and relaxing.
